Sonora Transfers Land to Build 20,000 Homes in Hermosillo, Sets 2030 Goal of 65,000 Statewide

Federal housing agencies will now set the pace of construction.

  • Governor Alfonso Durazo said the state donated land to the federal housing bodies Conavi and Infonavit to cut sale prices under President Claudia Sheinbaum’s national housing plan.

  • Officials set goals of 20,000 homes for Hermosillo and 65,000 across Sonora by 2030, and Durazo pledged 33,800 deliveries during his term.
  • The state will invest 113 million pesos in basic services and roads to support the new housing projects.
  • Plans call for 65-square-meter apartments in three-story buildings in areas such as Altares, Monteseris, and Real de Minas.
