Son Arrested and Charged With Murder After Mother Found Shot in Conroe Home

Major Crimes detectives are processing the scene pending the suspect’s medical clearance for booking.

  • Investigators identified the suspect as 23-year-old Michael Levi Flores and say he fled the home, crashed a short distance away, resisted deputies and fought with officers before being subdued with nonlethal force.
  • The suspect was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation and will be booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a murder charge once cleared by medical staff.
  • Montgomery County Major Crimes detectives and Crime Scene Investigators remained on scene as the probe continued and authorities said preliminary findings point to an incident limited to family members with no ongoing public threat.
  • Officials have not released a motive, the exact type of firearm, or who else may have been inside the home, and detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses as the investigation develops.
