SoftBank’s SB Energy to Build 10GW AI Campus at Ohio DOE Site With 10GW of New Power

Overview

• SB Energy outlined a 10 gigawatt AI computing campus at the Department of Energy’s Portsmouth site in Piketon, Ohio.
• The build includes 10 gigawatts of new generation with at least 9.2 gigawatts from natural gas, and AEP Ohio plans $4.2 billion in transmission upgrades that target site power by 2029.
• The Energy Department said SB Energy will pay to speed up cleanup of the former uranium enrichment complex on the site.
