SNL Adds Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter to Season 52 Cast

The hires restore at least one Black female performer to the ensemble, closing a later-than-usual summer casting cycle ahead of the Sept. 26 premiere.

Overview

  • SNL announced on Wednesday, Sept. 16 that Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter will join the show as featured players for Season 52.
  • Both performers auditioned in multi-city showcases and late-August screen tests that evaluated more than a dozen comedians this summer.
  • Belo-Osagie is a New York–based Nigerian American comedian, writer and filmmaker known for the solo show Saidah Gets Closure and the short film Tinge.
  • Reiter is a stand-up and digital creator from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin with a large social-media following and credits including HBO’s The Chair Company and the upcoming Netflix series Minimum Wage.
  • With all remaining Season 51 cast members returning and the new hires in place, SNL will begin Season 52 with a 17-member ensemble when it premieres on Sept. 26 with host Jalen Brunson and musical guest KATSEYE.
