Overview
- Snapseed 4.1 began rolling out to Android users on Tuesday, July 14, and introduces two headline features that change how photographers edit on mobile.
- The update adds built-in support for a broad set of RAW formats, including DNG, Sony ARW, Fujifilm RAF, Nikon NEF, Canon CR3, Olympus ORF, and Pentax PEF so many cameras can be edited natively.
- Editors can now undo and redo most actions while still inside individual editing tools, removing the need to exit to the main editor to reverse recent changes.
- Google is releasing the update gradually to protect stability, says a few RAW formats remain unsupported, warns that RAW processing can still produce bugs, and asks users to report any problems they find.
- Snapseed 4.1 is the first major feature expansion since the app’s May redesign and follows a series of patches that restored camera access and fixed earlier bugs, with an iOS update promised soon.
