Overview
- On Thursday the Servicio Meteorológico Nacional issued yellow alerts for Misiones (15:00–20:59) and for parts of Tucumán around midday warning of storms with heavy rain, frequent lightning, occasional hail and damaging gusts.
- Much of central Argentina remained stable for the day with cloudy or dry conditions reported for Santa Fe and the Buenos Aires metro area and daytime highs in the mid to high teens.
- Mexico's CONAGUA and national outlets updated forecasts for Friday and Saturday that call for convective storms, strong gusts and very high daytime temperatures in states including Nuevo León, Jalisco and parts of Sinaloa.
- Forecast models and national bulletins converge on a cold frontal passage into the AMBA on Saturday that is expected to sharply lower temperatures, produce gusty winds and bring a chance of isolated rain during the transition.
- Authorities advise residents to monitor agency updates, secure loose outdoor items, avoid travel in heavy downpours and take heat or cold precautions as conditions can change rapidly and yellow alerts indicate potentially hazardous but not the most severe conditions.
