Slay the Spire 2 Rolls Month of Beta Tweaks Into First Major Live Update

Mega Crit is testing changes in public Early Access to keep development flexible.

Overview

  • Mega Crit merged a month of beta-branch patches into the main Steam build on Friday as Major Update 1.
  • All five classes were rebalanced with key card changes, including Ironclad’s Not Yet heal, Silent’s Blade of Ink shivs that apply Weak, and a redesigned Necrobinder Borrowed Time that gives energy but makes cards cost more for that turn.
  • Core systems shifted as Ascension 6 became Inflation in the higher-difficulty ladder, raising card-removal prices, while shop relics are 25 gold cheaper, gold-making relics no longer appear for sale, and map layouts generate more evenly.
  • Enemy tuning makes early runs fairer and later fights sharper, with a full redesign of the Act Three boss Doormaker into rotating phases and tweaks like Living Fog spawning only one bomb per round.
  • Scoring now relies on end-of-run Badges and clear win speed, leaderboards are friends-only with separate records for main and beta, and the studio invites in-game F2 feedback as it teases alternate acts, Workshop support, new modes, and a new character without fixed dates.
