Slay the Spire 2 Rolls Month of Beta Changes Into First Major Update

The studio is using public beta feedback to tune balance during Early Access.

Overview

  • Mega Crit’s “Major Update 1,” which went live Friday, moves a month of beta-tested changes to the main Early Access build.
  • The patch reworks multiple classes with Ironclad’s new healing card, large Regent buffs, a redesigned Borrowed Time for Necrobinder, targeted Silent tweaks, and only minor Defect changes.
  • Late-game pacing shifts as the Act Three boss Doormaker is rebuilt with rotating phase mechanics, and balance changes make infinite-turn combos harder to set up.
  • Progression and economy are reshaped by Ascension 6’s new Inflation rule that raises card removal costs, lower shop relic prices with no gold-generating relics for sale, and steadier map generation.
  • Players get new art and combat VFX, end-of-run Badges, a phobia mode, and friends-only leaderboards with simpler scoring, and the team says it will keep tuning based on in-game F2 feedback.
