Slay the Spire 2 Pushes Beta Overhaul to Main Early Access Build

The patch resets balance, pacing, scoring under an iterative Early Access plan.

Overview

  • Mega Crit folded a month of beta patches into the live game on Friday, moving sweeping reworks, system changes, and fixes to the main branch while stressing the update can still change during Early Access.
  • The Ironclad, Silent, Regent, and Necrobinder received broad redesigns, including new or reworked cards such as Ironclad’s Not Yet, Silent’s Blade of Ink, and a new Borrowed Time for Necrobinder, with Defect seeing only light tweaks.
  • Progression rules shifted with five new Neow starting relics, an Ascension 6 swap to Inflation that raises card removal costs each use, and shops that sell relics for 25 gold less but never offer gold‑generating relics.
  • Leaderboards now show only friends, scoring now weighs wins, badges, and clear time, and records for the main and beta branches remain separate as the studio avoids invasive anti‑cheat tools.
  • Combat pacing changed to ease early runs and curb infinite‑turn combos, with elites spawning one floor later, several enemies retuned, and a full Doormaker boss redesign that cycles turns with strict draw, exhaust, or energy limits, plus broad new art, a Phobia mode, and many bug fixes.
