Overview
- A community researcher known as tckmn published a long-form analysis and livestream that showed multiple pseudo-random generators were producing correlated outputs, making some "random" outcomes predictable and skewing chances across regions.
- The correlations produced extreme biases in gameplay choices, with tckmn reporting examples such as Neow's Bones giving the Debt curse about 54% of the time in one Act 1 region but effectively 0% in the other and some cards appearing unobtainable in build 0.107.0.
- Mega Crit publicly acknowledged the flaw, credited tckmn in its patch notes, and said the team traced the cause to how seeds were derived for separate PRNGs which allowed outputs to be inferred from unrelated game checks.
- On Friday the studio shipped update 0.107.1 to the main branch, replacing the RNG implementation to remove human-detectable correlation and also rolling in the new Aeonglass boss, a Bestiary, Steam Workshop support, and many balance and bug fixes.
- The studio says the fix should stop players from exploiting pattern memorization, restore fair progression and compendium completion, and that further beta testing and patches will continue as Early Access development proceeds.
