Slay the Spire 2 Beta Overhaul Introduces Major Balance Changes and New Relics

Community testing of the July 17 beta has already exposed exploitable infinite interactions in reworked cards and relics that could force rapid fixes before the changes reach the live build.

Overview

  • Mega Crit released patch v0.109.0 to the Steam beta branch on July 17, 2026, delivering a wide balance overhaul that touches cards, relics, enemies, multiplayer rules and localization.
  • The update adds two Neow relics (Dowsing Rod and Neow’s Sacrifice) and a new Ambergris potion that heals 50% of max HP and grants an immediate extra turn when consumed.
  • Several class cards and relics were radically reworked, including Necrobinder’s Eidolon now playing every Ethereal card in your exhaust pile and Silent’s Well‑Laid Plans retaining your entire hand for the rest of a fight.
  • Players testing the beta have already found combos that can be abused or loop infinitely because of the Eidolon and Well‑Laid Plans changes, prompting expectations of rapid follow‑ups from Mega Crit.
  • The patch also trims and boosts many class options, tweaks enemy behavior, expands multiplayer potion sharing and fixes UI and localization bugs, continuing Mega Crit’s iterative Early Access approach that relies on player feedback to refine the live build.
