Overview
- Skybus told passengers in a letter on 16 July that all services between Cornwall Airport Newquay and St Mary’s will be halted through August 31 and bookings will be moved to flights from Land’s End on the same date.
- The carrier said a combination of limited aircraft and a shortfall of qualified pilots reduced operational resilience and left it unable to run the Newquay link reliably for the peak summer period.
- Affected customers will be contacted in date order, offered transfers to Land’s End, complimentary parking at Land’s End, refund of any fare difference and a voucher for the Land’s End airport café.
- Skybus will concentrate its available fleet and crews on Land’s End services and will keep its Exeter schedule to reduce further disruption while it works to strengthen operations.
- The pause will add travel time and logistics for island residents, visitors and businesses who rely on the Newquay link and could affect summer tourism and local supply routines until the service resumes.
