Sky to Shut Down Sky Live on Dec. 4, Refund Buyers Up to £290

Sky frames the decision as a shift toward core TV platforms, with automatic refunds issued to buyers.

Overview

  • Customers began receiving notices on November 4 and can continue using Sky Live until the service is switched off on December 4, 2025.
  • Refunds for the amount paid will be processed automatically to the payment method on file, with full-purchase refunds expected within about three weeks of November 4.
  • No return is required to receive a refund, though Sky offers a free Royal Mail returns option or users can recycle devices via Recycle Now.
  • Some gaming titles will continue on Sky Glass and Sky Stream outside any extra subscription, including Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
  • The move follows a broader technology reorganisation at Sky that includes plans to cut about 600 roles.
