Skoda Lowers EV Entry Point in Australia With Elroq 60 Select and Enyaq 60 Select

Early local tests highlight lower prices offset by shorter range, pared-back tech and restrictive payload ratings.

Overview

  • Drive-away pricing lands at A$49,990 for the Elroq 60 Select and A$54,990 for the Enyaq 60 Select, undercutting key rivals including Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7 and Kia EV5.
  • Both variants use a 59kWh usable NMC battery and a 150kW/310Nm rear-drive motor, with 165kW DC fast charging claimed for 10–80% in about 24 minutes and WLTP ranges of 395km (Elroq) and 410km (Enyaq).
  • Drive’s first local tests indicated real-world range of roughly 325km in the Elroq and about 330–350km in the Enyaq, with efficiency trailing some competitors.
  • Convenience features common in rivals are missing, including a companion phone app, built-in sat-nav and charger route planning, speed sign recognition, and a 360-degree camera unless optioned; rear side airbags come only with the Signature package.
  • Payload limits were flagged as a key constraint at 397kg for the Elroq and 419kg for the Enyaq, while safety credentials include a five-star ANCAP rating for the Enyaq and a five-star Euro NCAP result for the Elroq pending local assessment.
