Skoda Brings 48-Volt Mild-Hybrids to Kodiaq and Octavia in Early 2026

Entry-level Select grades shift to front-drive mild-hybrid power to lower claimed consumption.

Overview

  • Both models use a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 48-volt assistance (110kW/250Nm) paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
  • The electric motor assists with boost, coasting and start/stop functions but cannot drive the wheels on battery power alone.
  • The new front-wheel-drive Select variants replace Kodiaq 140TSI Select AWD and Octavia 110TSI Select and Sportline.
  • Skoda claims 5.1–5.2L/100km for the Octavia and 6.0L/100km mixed (7.0 urban) for the Kodiaq, noting these are laboratory figures.
  • Kodiaq mHEV Select offers five or seven seats and an optional Signature Package, Octavia Select adds convenience features, and RS plus Kodiaq Sportline petrol versions remain with pricing to be confirmed closer to launch.
