Overview
- Police say a group chased a 19-year-old from the Red Line onto a Downtown Crossing escalator, kicked him in the face and head, and stole his phone, ID, and debit cards.
- Officers used the victim’s phone tracking feature and surveillance video to find a group outside 99 Blackstone St. about an hour after the attack.
- Prosecutors say Giavanna Williams produced the victim’s phone and debit cards from her sweatshirt when approached by officers.
- Luis Loaiza, Jose Soto, Cameron Castro, Anthony Perry, and Alexander Loaiza face unarmed robbery and assault and battery with a deadly weapon (shod foot) charges; Williams is charged with receiving stolen property over $1,200.
- All six pleaded not guilty, Judge James Coffey set $500 bail with stay-away orders, and a probable cause hearing is scheduled for May 19.
