Six Flags Over Texas Sets July 9 Opening for Tormenta Rampaging Run

Park officials said extra testing will ensure the coaster opens safely to deliver the intended guest experience.

Overview

  • The park announced Wednesday that the coaster’s delayed debut will now open to the public on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
  • Tormenta Rampaging Run is built by Bolliger & Mabillard and begins with a 309-foot climb followed by a 95-degree beyond-vertical drop.
  • Six Flags says the dive coaster will claim six world records including tallest dive coaster (309 ft), fastest (87 mph) and longest (4,199 ft).
  • The ride will anchor a new themed area called Rancho de la Tormenta that uses a Running of the Bulls motif and includes Cocina Abuela, a Spanish and Latin American restaurant.
  • Park officials described the short postponement from June 26 as needed to finish extended testing and finalize ride systems and guest experience before opening.
