Overview
- Audacy and SiriusXM announced a partnership to carry 42 Audacy stations from 29 markets on SiriusXM’s platform, bringing local sports, news and talk shows to a national audience.
- The rollout is staggered: 23 Audacy sports stations will appear on SiriusXM on Sept. 1 and 19 Audacy news and talk stations will follow later this year.
- All 42 stations will be available on the SiriusXM app and a subset — including WFAN and eight other sports outlets — will also be offered through factory-installed vehicle satellite radios.
- The agreement includes a licensing fee to Audacy and gives SiriusXM more local sports-talk programming, which the company says fills a gap in its lineup and enables cross-promotion opportunities.
- The move brings WFAN talent such as Craig Carton and Boomer Esiason onto SiriusXM and places WFAN on the same platform that already hosts Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, changing how local radio shows reach listeners nationwide.
