Overview
- SiriusXM announced Wednesday, July 29, that Sports Pass will debut on September 1 with a $5 monthly price and a reported $49 annual option for new U.S. subscribers.
- The plan delivers live play-by-play for virtually every major property the service carries, including NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula 1, PGA Tour events and WWE premium live events.
- Sports Pass bundles SiriusXM’s dedicated channels with national networks such as ESPN Radio and Fox Sports on SiriusXM plus about two dozen local sports stations in key U.S. markets.
- The service will be available both in cars and through the SiriusXM app, a move the company says will make the platform a single destination for sports audio and daily sports conversation.
- SiriusXM frames the launch as a retention and engagement strategy that could raise time spent on its platform by offering a lower-cost, sport-focused tier alongside its existing music and all-access packages.
