- Chan Brothers said the unnamed Singapore woman fell ill while descending Paro Taktsang and died on Saturday after responders gave CPR on site and she was taken to Paro Hospital.
- The traveller was part of a Chan Brothers Bhutan Smart Saver group that flew on the company’s charter on May 26 and included about 16 people, the agency said.
- Tiger’s Nest sits about 3,120 metres above sea level and the visit involves a roughly 7 km round trip and several hundred metres of elevation gain, where thinner air and exertion can raise health risks for visitors.
- Chan Brothers said it is supporting the woman’s travelling companion and family, has informed the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Singapore Embassy in Bhutan, and has notified local authorities.
- Investigations and a post-mortem examination are ongoing and no official cause of death has been released, with authorities and the tour operator saying they cannot comment further at this stage.
