Overview
- The pre-dawn collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. on January 24 at Corso Sempione near the intersection with Via Emanuele Filiberto in Milan.
- Initial police analyses indicate the Amsa refuse vehicle may not have yielded and struck the BMW from the right.
- The BMW was dragged for several meters, damaged signage and a traffic light, and then hit a third car, whose driver was uninjured.
- The BMW driver, identified as Simone Bonino, died shortly after arrival at Fatebenefratelli hospital, while the Amsa driver was taken to San Carlo in code yellow.
- Amsa expressed condolences to the family and said it is cooperating with authorities as Polizia Locale and Areu 118 complete technical reconstructions.
