Siemens Will Close Evosoft’s German Operations by End of 2027

Overview

• Siemens confirmed on June 2 that Evosoft will end business in Germany and close its German sites by the end of calendar year 2027, affecting 377 employees.
• Staff were informed of the plan on May 20 and Siemens has begun preparing formal talks with employee representatives to negotiate an Interessensausgleich and a Sozialplan.
• Siemens says more than 95 percent of Evosoft’s German orders came from the parent company, which will now award contracts to Evosoft locations in Hungary, Romania and Turkey and to Siemens internal developers in India.
• A 12–18 month transition period will keep current work running but bar new orders at the German sites, and Siemens says it hopes some affected employees can be placed within wider Siemens structures.
• The closure will hit Mittelfranken hardest — about 340 of the 377 jobs are there — adding to broader Siemens workforce reductions announced in 2025 and prompting local economic concern.
