Iyer hit the milestone during Punjab Kings’ Indian Premier League match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Dharamshala on Sunday.
He is the fifth IPL captain to reach 100 games, entering a group led by MS Dhoni with others in Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir.
Across his first 99 games as skipper, he logged 56 wins, 40 losses and three no-results for a 58.3% success rate in completed matches.
He stands alone as the only captain to take three different franchises to the IPL final with runs at Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings.
His path includes a 2024 title with KKR, a release before 2025, a PBKS bid of INR 26.75 crore at the mega auction and a return to the final with Punjab in 2025.
