Overview
- Logan Procter was sentenced Friday to life in prison with a minimum term of 20 years and 10 months at Derby Crown Court.
- He stabbed his stepfather, Christopher Owen, more than 70 times and killed the family Jack Russell, Poppy, at their Shirebrook home on October 22 last year.
- Prosecutors said he kept knives and samurai swords in the house, searched for ways to kill, and compiled kill lists naming relatives, co-workers and classmates.
- In a calm 999 call, he said he wanted to end many lives, and police later said he has never given a reason for the attack.
- Mr Owen’s family described profound loss, with his partner Alison Owen saying she lost her loved ones, and they noted another brother was murdered in 2007.
