Overview
- New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill and First Gentleman Jason Hedberg said Friday the family will relocate later this summer to Drumthwacket to live there full time.
- They said the change brings them much closer to the State House in Trenton to keep their work centered in the capital.
- The shift cuts roughly an hour from her commute because Drumthwacket is about 12 miles from Trenton while Montclair is 65 to 75 miles away.
- The Princeton mansion already has 24/7 State Police protection, according to spokesperson Steve Sigmund.
- The administration has not said whether they will keep their Montclair home or pay utilities and other costs tied to living at Drumthwacket.
