Sherrie Mae Plitouke Arraigned in Webster Crash That Killed 10-Year-Old

Reconstruction findings place her well over the limit to shape the case.

Overview

  • Plitouke, 35, of Southbridge, appeared Tuesday in Dudley District Court on counts of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, negligent operation, and speeding, and the judge set bail at $25,000.
  • Police filings say crash-scene calculations put the impact at about 41.39 mph, and nearby video recorded her Buick at roughly 65 mph less than a quarter-mile before the collision in a 30 mph zone.
  • Investigators say she struck Marleigh Guevara on School Street on April 11 near the child’s home, after which a bystander used an automated external defibrillator and performed CPR before she was taken to UMass Memorial and pronounced dead.
  • Webster’s police chief said Plitouke stayed at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication, while her attorney called the crash a tragic accident and claimed she was at most 11 mph over the limit.
  • Court records also describe a separate April 3 incident in Dudley where officers found her unresponsive in a running car and recovered suspected drugs, leading to pending OUI and possession charges.
