- Shell Brasil said Cristiano Pinto da Costa will hand the presidency to João Santos Rosa on August 1 after nearly 30 years with the company, with the handover already in progress.
- Rosa, now head of Shell Italy, will also serve as executive vice-president for Brazil in Shell’s global upstream unit.
- Under Pinto da Costa, Shell’s Brazil output rose about 25%, topping 500,000 barrels per day in March 2026, according to the company.
- The company expanded its exploration and production portfolio from roughly 30 to more than 70 contracts, adding areas in the South of Santos and Pelotas.
- Shell took a final investment decision on the Orca pre-salt project in the Santos Basin, which targets first oil in 2029, as its shift to stable offshore assets helped lift 2025 payments to Brazil about 15% to roughly $4.25 billion.
