- The National Geographic Institute confirmed the quake struck at 00:55 local time after revising the magnitude from 4.5 to 4.3.
- Reports to the institute indicate shaking in more than 100 municipalities across Almería, Murcia, Granada and Jaén.
- The epicentre was near the Desierto de Tabernas solar facility at a very shallow depth, intensifying surface shaking.
- Five minor aftershocks between 01:03 and 01:23 registered magnitudes 1.5–1.9, all located near Tabernas.
- No damage has been reported so far as residents and holidaymakers described being woken by strong shaking.
