Overview
- Much of North Texas, including Dallas–Fort Worth, sits under a Storm Prediction Center Enhanced Risk Tuesday, a higher-than-normal level for organized severe storms.
- Forecasters expect the greatest danger late this afternoon and evening near and east of I-35, with threats that include very large hail, damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes.
- The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch for Dallas–Fort Worth and a broad swath of North Central Texas through the evening as conditions favor rotating storms.
- Following Saturday’s tornadoes, officials identified Juan Madrid of Runaway Bay and Kathleen Lietzke of Springtown as the two people killed, with homes destroyed and injuries reported.
- Springtown ISD kept schools closed Tuesday as more than 30% of the community remains without power, and additional storms are expected late Thursday into Friday with widespread rain and embedded severe cells.
