- Riders will be able to use one credit or debit card or a mobile wallet to pay fares for up to five people across buses, subways, trolleys, and Regional Rail.
- Until now, paying for a group required a SEPTA Key card, which gained a multi-rider option in 2024.
- SEPTA says it timed the expansion for large summer crowds tied to America’s 250th, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the MLB All-Star Game, and the PGA Championship.
- Contactless use keeps rising, now making up more than half of single trips on bus and metro and 23% on Regional Rail, with usage up about 20% from last year.
- Earlier this year SEPTA retired Key Tix, its QR-code single-trip option, saying broad tap-to-pay adoption made it unnecessary.
