Sentry Becomes Title Sponsor of Torrey Pines PGA Event

The deal keeps a long-running San Diego tournament on the Tour and creates a path for the event to gain greater prominence in future schedule changes.

Overview

  • The PGA Tour, Sentry Insurance and the Century Club of San Diego announced Monday that Sentry will take over as title sponsor and the tournament will be renamed The Sentry.
  • The Sentry at Torrey Pines is scheduled for Jan. 27–30, 2027 and will be played on both the North and South courses with a Saturday finish to avoid competing with the NFL conference championship weekend.
  • Sentry moved its sponsorship after its season-opening event at Kapalua was canceled because of a Maui water crisis and after Farmers Insurance declined to renew its 17-year sponsorship in January.
  • The Century Club will continue to run the tournament and Sentry has pledged to maintain and build the event’s charitable programs that helped fund about $25 million in donations under Farmers.
  • Organizers and Sentry say they are discussing possible upgrades to the tournament’s status and calendar placement as the PGA Tour reviews its schedule, and the event will be carried on CBS/Paramount+ and other PGA media windows.
