Overview
- A train derailed near Selhurst Depot blocked routes toward Norwood Junction and London Bridge, and Network Rail confirmed no injuries.
- A separate signalling fault between Norwood Junction and London Blackfriars reduced available lines and forced slower running on remaining tracks.
- Thameslink, Southern and Gatwick Express initially told passengers not to travel on 4 February, then lifted the alert by around 10am as disruption continued.
- Multiple routes were suspended or curtailed, including London Bridge–East Grinstead, Orpington–Luton, Brighton–Cambridge and Bedford–Three Bridges, with some services diverted via Selhurst.
