- The NCAA Selection Show will air at 11 a.m. Monday, May 25 on ESPN2 and will announce the official 64-team bracket.
- Conference tournaments concluded on May 24 and produced 29 automatic qualifiers that are locked into the field.
- Media projections published May 24, led by USA TODAY via Yahoo Sports, list UCLA as the projected No. 1 overall seed and show heavy SEC representation among the expected top-16 regional hosts.
- The top 16 teams will host regional four-team, double-elimination sites and the top eight will host best-of-three super regionals; regionals begin the Friday after Selection Monday and the College World Series runs June 12–22 in Omaha.
- Final selections will rely on RPI and Quad-1/Quad-2 results as well as conference outcomes, leaving several bubble teams such as Oregon, USC, Mississippi, Oregon State and Wake Forest able to change at-large and hosting decisions.
