Segway Launches MAX G3 Plus and Expands Back‑to‑School EV Sale

Segway says a new 'usable range' test will give riders more realistic range estimates to help plan daily commutes.

Overview

  • Segway unveiled the MAX G3 Plus, which was announced Tuesday, with a 717 Wh battery, 2,200 W peak power, a 28 mph top speed and a manufacturer-claimed usable range of up to 56 miles.
  • The company introduced a new range-testing method that measures distance until the scooter can no longer sustain 60% of a riding mode’s top speed to present a more realistic usable range figure.
  • Pre-orders for the MAX G3 Plus are open at an introductory $1,149.99 price and are scheduled to begin shipping around August 25th before the model returns to a $1,499.99 MSRP.
  • Segway’s Back to School EV Sale is live with steep discounts across scooters and e-bikes, including the E2 Pro at about $420, the Xafari at $1,499.99 and the Xyber at $2,299.99 as all-time lows.
  • The MAX G3 Plus and several sale models highlight rider-focused safety and connected security—dedicated rear turn signals, an Intelligent Combined Braking System, Apple Find My and AirLock proximity locking—which could push clearer range reporting and connected features across the micromobility market.
