Overview
- Sedapal is carrying out scheduled service interruptions across many Lima districts on June 21–22 to perform reservoir cleaning, pipeline empalmes and related maintenance.
- Published timetables list specific sectors and start/stop times with some outages lasting up to about 12 hours in heavily affected areas.
- Several outages reported by the utility were caused by unforeseen incidents such as ruptures of main pipes that require immediate on-site repair.
- To reduce hardship, Sedapal has deployed water tanker trucks (camiones cisterna) to priority zones and urges residents to consult its schedule, store water ahead of outages and use water efficiently.
- The citywide work is framed by Sedapal as needed to strengthen storage and distribution and to prevent longer-term supply failures that would affect households and services.
