Security Forces Sweep Samba After Drone Sighting: 2 Kg Heroin Seized in Bishnah

Officials say the Bishnah haul was likely air-dropped by a Pakistani drone.

Overview

  • Jammu Police and the 101 Battalion BSF recovered about 2 kg of heroin during a Wednesday night cordon-and-search in Bahadurpura, Bishnah, near the International Border.
  • Teams found a field bag fitted with a rope and hook containing multiple small packets of contraband, a setup consistent with drone-based deliveries from across the border.
  • An FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered at Bishnah police station, and the investigation is being led by SHO Rakesh Jamwal under the supervision of the SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu.
  • In the R S Pura sector over the past two days, security forces recovered more than 3.5 kg of heroin from drone-dropped consignments and detained two suspected smugglers for questioning.
  • Following a drone sighting over villages in Samba’s Ramgarh sector on Friday night, a large-scale search began at first light to check for any air-dropped packages and strengthen surveillance.
