Second LPG Tanker Docks in Gujarat as India Secures Hormuz Passages and Navy Escorts Ships

New Delhi is negotiating ship-by-ship clearances with Iran to keep energy cargo moving.

Overview

  • Nanda Devi reached Kandla in Gujarat around 2:30 am Tuesday with about 46,500–47,000 tonnes of LPG, officials said.
  • Shivalik berthed at Mundra on Monday with roughly 46,000 tonnes, and together the two cargoes total about 92,712 tonnes, near a day’s LPG import need.
  • Crude carrier Jag Laadki sailed safely from Fujairah with about 80,800 tonnes of Murban crude and is due at Mundra on Tuesday, after loading during an attack on the terminal.
  • The Indian Navy, operating under Operation Sankalp, escorted Shivalik, Nanda Devi and Jag Laadki from the Gulf of Oman after their Hormuz transits.
  • Authorities report 22 Indian‑flagged vessels with 611 seafarers still west of the strait, including six LPG ships totaling roughly 300,000 tonnes, as the government maintains fuel supply stability and prioritizes port operations.
