Overview
- A man's body was found about 2:45pm Tuesday north of Black Head Reserve at Gerroa, nearly two days after another body was recovered on the rocky shoreline.
- Police say the body located Tuesday is believed to be one of two rock fishermen reported missing on Monday after failing to return from the South Coast, with formal identification pending.
- NSW Police Marine Area Command led a coordinated land, air and water search from Black Head Reserve with support from Police Rescue, the State Emergency Service, Marine Rescue NSW, Surf Life Saving NSW and the Lifesaver helicopter.
- A Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew searched the coastline as part of the operation, which was suspended overnight and resumed at first light.
- Local lifesavers reported large swells impacting the area, and the man found on Sunday was reported not to be wearing a life jacket.
