Overview
- Gilberts police identified the missing person as 59-year-old Adam Kurtz, who was last seen leaving his Timber Trails home riding a black Trek mountain bike and wearing a black tank top, dark shorts, a white ball cap and dark tennis shoes.
- Kane County Emergency Management sent a mass-text to area residents asking for tips, and Forest Preserve Police said they were assisting Gilberts Police with the search.
- Officials temporarily closed Burnidge Forest Preserve and Paul Wolff Campground in Elgin to support search activity and said the areas would be reopened the following morning once operations concluded.
