Search for Missing 80‑Year‑Old Alan Wilson Expands to Trimley Countryside

Police say new video shows him moving into rural ground and they are increasingly concerned because he lacks vital medication.

Overview

  • Alan Wilson, 80, was last seen on foot in the Rogers Close area of Felixstowe and is believed to have left at about 4:15pm on Monday, July 13.
  • CCTV evidence places him boarding the number 75 bus at 4:30pm and on a doorbell camera at 5:32pm in Trimley St Martin, with a further sighting about 5:38pm on a nearby path.
  • Officers widened searches to land south of Grimston Lane in Trimley after new footage showed Wilson moving west at about 6:30pm, and teams from Suffolk Police, HM Coastguard, NPAS and SulSAR are searching that area.
  • Police stress Mr Wilson is without important medication, is thought to have no money and does not own a mobile phone, and they describe him as about 5ft 8ins, slim, with short grey hair and wearing a black light jacket and grey trousers.
  • Detectives ask residents and drivers in Felixstowe, Walton and the Trimleys to check gardens, sheds, outbuildings, CCTV and dashcam footage and to approach him and contact Suffolk Police immediately quoting CAD 382 of July 13 if they see him.
