Overview
- Angelica Brophy, a 44-year-old ER nurse and mother of two, was last seen on July 6 after dropping her daughter at summer camp and leaving Harrah’s Resort before her car was recorded entering Palomar Mountain State Park.
- Family members found Brophy’s vehicle in the park’s lot on July 9, which prompted coordinated searches by California State Parks, San Diego County search-and-rescue teams and Oceanside Police.
- Search teams combed more than 1,800 acres of rugged terrain with foot teams, drones, K-9s and horses but turned up no sign of Brophy.
- Divers from California State Parks and the San Diego Harbor Police searched Doane Pond on July 12–13 with no results, and detectives were unable to locate her cellphone because it was off or had a dead battery.
- Relatives and volunteers continue independent searches and flyer distribution across North County while Oceanside Police review casino footage, follow leads and urge anyone with information to call their tip lines.
