Overview
- Scindia ended a three-day visit to Sikkim, May 14–16, by joining Statehood Day events where 21 projects worth Rs 223 crore were launched.
- The package featured connectivity works under the NESIDS-Roads program, including new bridges linking NH-10 to local roads and upgrades across Rangpo Khola and Rongrong river corridors.
- The government launched Mission Sikkim Organics with a planned outlay of Rs 360 crore, including Rs 85 crore from the DoNER ministry, targeting better certification, processing and exports for more than 66,000 farmer families.
- Across Namchi, Scindia inspected the Sikkim State University site, the Temi Tea Estate and processing unit, the adventure and eco-tourism center at Chemchey, and the under-construction Bhaleydhunga Skywalk planned at 3,200 metres.
- He said work is underway on an alternative alignment to NH-10 to secure all‑weather access to Sikkim, which would reduce landslide disruptions for residents, tourists and freight.
