- Speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said India is participating at the global table that will shape 6G standards for the first time.
- He said the Bharat 6G Alliance has expanded from 15 to over 100 members and has forged partnerships with similar alliances in about 30 countries.
- Scindia cited what he called the world’s fastest 5G rollout, completed in 22 months, with 99.9% of districts covered and roughly 40 crore users on 5G.
- He promoted SIM binding to link SIM cards with verified devices to strengthen security and reduce fraud, including cybercrime and financial scams.
- At a separate book launch, he forecast that artificial intelligence could add nearly $957 billion to India’s GDP by 2030 and described the volume as a policy compass for emerging tech.
