Scindia Announces Rs 2,500 Crore Defence Plant Near Kolaras With Two-Month Timeline

Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced a Rs 2,500 crore defence manufacturing plant near Kolaras with a target to establish it within two months.
He specified a site about 15 km from the town at the junction of the Kota and Mumbai–Gwalior highways to tap easier transport links.
Scindia said the facility is expected to create about 2,000 direct jobs and broaden the local economy beyond farming.
During the visit, he launched Rs 19.68 crore in civic works, including boys’ and girls’ hostels and a Janpad Panchayat building under the PM-JANMAN scheme.
He also highlighted new local upgrades with the opening of a bus stand and shopping complex and the foundation for a sewage treatment plant, while most reports noted no signed contracts or named builders, though one agency report attributed the plant to the Adani group.
