Overview
- At Beverley Magistrates’ Court on 4 March, Aurelia Pearson pleaded guilty to failing her duty of care over her household waste.
- She must pay a £120 fine, £454.01 in costs and a £48 victim surcharge, totalling about £622.
- Bin bags containing general waste and children’s toys were found on Burton Fleming Road at Fordon near Wold Newton on 24 March last year after a member of the public reported the fly-tip.
- Investigators linked the rubbish to Pearson, who admitted giving it to another person without checking they were a licensed, authorised waste carrier.
- East Riding Council thanked the public for reporting the tip and reminded residents to use wheelie bins, visit household waste sites or hire Environment Agency–registered carriers, noting penalties can include fixed fines up to £1,000 or unlimited fines in court.
