Sébastien Bourdais Confirmed for St. Petersburg MX-5 Cup Guest Drive With MMR

The guest outing doubles as a Karts4Kids fundraiser featuring donor names on his No. 38 car.

Overview

  • Bourdais will race the No. 38 for McCumbee McAleer Racing in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup doubleheader at St. Petersburg from February 27 to March 1 supporting the IndyCar weekend.
  • Race 1 is scheduled for Saturday, February 28 at 7:30 a.m. ET and Race 2 for Sunday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m. ET, with both streamed live on the IMSA and RACER YouTube channels.
  • He will complete a preparation test in MX-5 Cup machinery on February 17 at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina.
  • Donations to Karts4Kids benefiting Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital start at $5,000 for name or company placement on the car, and the Pro-Am fundraiser runs February 25 at T4 KartPlex in Palmetto, Florida.
  • The Tampa Bay resident returns to a track where he won IndyCar races in 2017 and 2018 and last competed in 2021, before shifting focus to his FIA WEC season with Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA following the St. Pete weekend.
