Saxony Full-Time Pay Up 4.4% in 2025 as Wage Gaps Persist

The DGB wants public money to go only to employers with collective agreements.

Overview

  • The Saxony statistics office, which reported Monday, said average gross annual pay rose 4.4% to about €53,600 and included holiday and Christmas bonuses.
  • Pay rose with firm size, from €42,890 in companies with up to nine staff to €63,693 in firms with 1,000 or more employees.
  • Collective agreements lifted pay to €59,927 versus €48,208 without such deals, yet only about 42% of workers are covered in Saxony, the lowest share among states.
  • Following Monday's release, DGB Saxony chair Daniela Kolbe urged the state to require collective agreements for public contracts and for any subsidies.
  • Saxony’s average stayed below the national figure of €64,441, reflecting East–West differences and a firm mix that leaves many workers in smaller, lower-paying companies.
