Overview
- Overnighting in the open is now permanently prohibited each year from February 1 to June 15 in the Nationalpark Sächsische Schweiz.
- The ministry anchored the rule by amending the park’s management and development plan and issuing a general decree.
- From June 16 to January 30, sleeping is permitted only at 58 designated sites and solely in connection with climbing.
- Conduct at approved sites remains tightly restricted with no fires, no trash and no noise.
- Rangers will increase checks, and officials report the 2022–2025 trial brought a noticeable drop in free overnight stays.
