Saturday ‘Hoy No Circula’ in CDMX and Edomex: Hologram 1 Evens and All Hologram 2 Off the Roads

Expanded coverage brings set hours with fines of 20–30 UMA for violations.

Overview

  • Air-quality monitors reported acceptable conditions, so the program operated under standard rules on Friday with no contingency in place.
  • Saturday’s schedule bars vehicles with Hologram 1 whose plates end in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 during program hours.
  • All Hologram 2 vehicles and cars with foreign plates are not allowed to circulate on Saturdays from 5:00 to 22:00.
  • Rules apply across Mexico City’s 16 boroughs and 18 neighboring State of Mexico municipalities, with the footprint now extended to the Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco metro areas.
  • Exempt vehicles include those with Hologram 00 and 0, electric and hybrid cars, motorcycles, public transport, emergency units, and cars with disability plates, while violations carry 20–30 UMA in fines, equal to about 2,346–3,519 pesos under the 2026 rate.
