Overview
- The National Weather Service has wind advisories in effect until 2 p.m. Wednesday for the San Gabriel Mountains and the 5 and 14 freeway corridors.
- Northeast winds of 25 to 35 mph with localized gusts up to 50 mph are forecast in the hardest-hit corridors.
- Additional advisories cover the Santa Clarita Valley, western San Fernando Valley and Santa Monica Mountains with 20 to 30 mph winds and gusts to 45 mph, and Calabasas–Agoura Hills and the Malibu coast with lower but still gusty conditions.
- Highs are expected to reach the 80s in many coastal and valley areas, with some spots in the mid to high 80s about 15 to 22 degrees above normal and near record levels.
- Officials warn of unsecured objects blowing around, downed tree limbs, isolated power outages and difficult travel for high-profile vehicles, with cooling expected late week and a chance of rain early next week.
